Health management in Adnoc involves four distinct activities with integrated responsibilities across different parts of the Adnoc organisation.

Preventative medicine involves the prevention, recognition and treatment of illness and injury of personnel and their families. Specifically for Adnoc personnel and their families, the Medical Services Division (MSD) operates two clinics (Abu Dhabi and Ruwais).
These are fully equipped and staffed with a range of specialists, physicians and nurses.
Preventative medicine for group companies personnel and their families is provided either via the Ruwais clinic, the Adco-operated clinic or via one of the independent or government-operated medical facilities in Abu Dhabi.
Occupational medicine involves the prevention, recognition and treatment of illness and injury as these apply to workers in all occupations.
It is recognised as a specialist activity in which physicians and nurses apply principles identical to 'preventative medicine,' which includes emergency medical care and rehabilitation.
All Adnoc group company and contractor personnel, whilst at work at remote onshore/offshore locations, have access to fully equipped clinics which are staffed by professional physicians and nurses.
Onshore workers use strategically located clinics which are operated under contract, supervised by Medical Services Division (MSD). Offshore workers use strategically located clinics that are operated by the group companies themselves.
All remote onshore and offshore locations (e.g. drilling rigs) have professional nurses to handle minor ailments and first aid.
Occupational Hygiene (OH) management involves the recognition, assessment, prevention and control of hazards to health resulting from the entire spectrum of industrial activities.
It concerns hazards from chemical agents (e.g. asbestos, benzene, silica, mercury, lead), physical agents (e.g. noise, radiation, heat, light) and ergonomics (e.g. lifting, sitting, repetitive work) and biological agent (e.g. airborne diseases, microorganisms, blood-borne pathogens, fungi, allergies).
EH&S division is responsible for defining corporate occupational hygiene standards for Adnoc and its group of companies, which are documented in the Adnoc codes of practice and guideline.
Specifically on those issues which have the potential to affect the medical health of workers, EH&S division works in close coordination with Adnoc Medical Services Division (MSD).
Environmental Health (EH) management involves the recognition, assessment, prevention and control of hazards resulting from catering activities (e.g. at camps, restaurants) controlled by Adnoc and its group companies (including contractors).
EH&S division is responsible for defining corporate environmental health standards for Adnoc and its group companies, which are documented in the Adnoc codes of practice and guidelines.
EH&S division employs EH Inspectors who periodically inspect all Adnoc, group company and contractor camp facilities to verify that that working and living conditions are maintained in accordance with the Adnoc standards.
As part of these inspections, the inspectors collect samples for a comprehensive set of EH parameters.
The samples are subsequently analysed in the Adnoc HSE Laboratory and the results, including improvement recommendations, are fed back to the group companies.
