FireLock NXT has compact design

Victaulic has highlighted that its FireLock NXT line offers the easiest way to install devices currently available on the market, with simplified trim configurations that maximise flexibility for system designers as well as being easier to install, service and maintain. Devices are delivered pre-assembled with couplings and valves already in position so installers only need to place them in the system and make some very minor adjustments to have them working.

'Their compact design offers numerous efficiency advantages and, with the smallest footprint in the industry, they take up less space. The design of the valve bodies of Victaulic devices is very similar for all systems, so maintenance is much more convenient and the same procedures work across the board,' the company says.

'For added convenience and security the devices are easy to reset as the FireLock NXT line only requires externally resetting so there is no need to open the cover plate to reset the clapper.'

Additionally, the company said, Victaulic devices were suitable for all types of systems as they are fully rated and tested at 300 PSI without the need of pressure reducing valves. The FireLock NXT device line also eliminated the air-to-water differential, allowing faster delivery of water to sprinklers and controlling friction loss on high-rise installations, ensuring maximum efficiency within the fire protection system from day one.

'It is very important to be aware of the hidden costs when choosing fire protection systems, particularly in the current climate,' says James Keown, fire protection sales engineer at Victaulic. 'With a lot of manufacturers there are extras that are not immediately clear. With Victaulic you get a top performing, compact, preassembled device straight out of the box and no surprises later on.'

A complete range

Victaulic also offers a complete range of couplings, fittings, valves and sprinklers to provide an easy way for contractors to increase productivity, efficiency and profitability onsite.

Selecting the right fire protection devices is absolutely critical to safety management. However, with growing demands being made on fire protection systems both in terms of building height and availability of pump room space, there are other factors to consider and functional suitability must go hand in hand with ease of installation and maintenance when it comes to system selection, the company points out.

'Specifying and installing a manufacturer whose range of devices provide an efficient total solution whilst meeting installation and maintenance challenges brings many benefits to the client,' says Keown. 'The pressure on engineers is the same globally and it is important to find the supplier with the right solution.'
