A Raghadan paint factory in Riyadh
Raghadan Paints has successfully launched a range of new products that have won local and regional acclaim for their high quality standards. Among the Riyadh-based company’s latest paints are silicon and anti-microbial coating systems. The new Raghadan product range includes the Silverguard, a multi-purpose water-based anti-microbial topcoat which can be applied where there is a need to impose general hygienic conditions. It is very effective against the growth of bacteria, fungus and algae. Other recently introduced Raghadan products: Silicon Tex, which is a premium-quality decorative and protective acrylic-silicon finish providing excellent water repellency combined with maximum water vapour permeability. It also has anti-humidity qualities and is highly resistant to severe climatic conditions. Polo is a decorative interior finish with a chromatic effect to achieve a rough metallic appearance. It is prepared by using special pearlescent pigments. It gives a 'pearl sandy' effect, according to the company. Velvet is an elegant, decorative interior finish that imparts a smooth, soft, velvet effect and a suede touch. Granito, an exterior and interior texture coating, is based on a special acrylic polymer, where a granite effect is desired. It is treated with sparkling crystal. Graviato Décor is a multi-colour texture coating based on acrylic and special quartz and intended for exterior applications by a trowel. Aqua Gold and Silver are water-based gold and silver paints for decorative application and interior and exterior use. The company’s recent participation at specialised building materials and interior décor exhibitions in Saudi Arabia and other regional countries has further helped take the ISO-approved products closer to customers. A showroom displaying the Quality accolades This year the company’s paints were certified as having low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), giving it the Green Seal (GS-11) mark. The company stresses that the certification came from an independent laboratory. Raghadan has also received quality certificates of several Arab states in support of its export activities. Last year it successfully upgraded its Quality Management Standards to the latest version. 'We have demonstrated our total commitment to meeting the criteria of different quality standards both locally and internationally,' said a spokesman of the company. Established in 1974, Raghadan is considered to be the largest Arab paint company with four paint factories – two in Riyadh and one each in Egypt and Jordan – and six paint companies (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt and Britain) plus 15 branches, 20 agents and more than 500 authorised distributors in the region.
