Bahrain Pipes (BP) is eyeing a 40 per cent increase in output with the introduction of a line to produce an advanced range of high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes up to diameter 1,600 mm.
Additionally, the company’s production capacity for injection moulded fittings will be increased substantially this year with the inclusion of two more injection moulding machines and many new moulds, reveals sales manager M M Abdul Rehman.
Some of the key developments at BP included commissioning of a factory in collaboration with German manufacturer Krah for the production of HDPE spiral pipes of up to 3,500 mm for drainage applications. HDPE spiral pipes are considered to be a complete solution for corrosion-resistant waste water treatment and control system.
“Recently, we supplied big size HDPE pipes and fittings of diameter 1,200 mm to one of the current prime infrastructure projects in Qatar, the Lusail Development,” said Rehman.
Among leading projects executed by BP over the years are Bahrain International Circuit, Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain Financial Harbour, Durrat Al Bahrain, Bahrain Bay, Reef Island and Bahrain International Airport. Some of the ongoing projects in Bahrain include Asry Quay Wall Project, Sheikh Khalifa Park at Hidd, Hidd Sewerage Scheme and North Manama Causeway.
BP, a subsidiary of Haji Hassan Group, is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of UPVC and CPVC pipes/fittings, polyethylene (both high and low density) and polybutylene pipes in the country and across the Middle East and Africa.
Besides offering a broad range of high-quality products, Bahrain Pipes is among a few in the region that manufactures polybutylene hot and cold plumbing and heating systems.
The company, a subsidiary of the Haji Hassan Group, has a storage capacity of up to 500,000 tonnes and a warehouse of 15,000 sq m for raw materials.
