A new paint line for secondary section Z and C has been installed in the P and B Division of the Saudi-based Zamil Steel. The state-of-the-art systems is claimed to be the first such plant in the Middle East.

The new paint line has a high capacity for painting Z and C sections and its fully automated system facilitates and expedites the process, a spokesman said. The full processing takes a few seconds and involves cleaning, ovening, paint applications, drying and finally packing to customer satisfaction and colour requirements.

"This recent addition to our machinery line costs more than $500,000," said Zamil Steel manufacturing manager Musad Al Rooq said.

"The system has now been automated and will enable us to offer our customers the ultimate variety in paint colour and coating without any additional costs," he said.

Zamil Steel is part of Saudi Arabia's Zamil family business organisations. Along with two other building services companies, Zamil Air-conditioners (ZAC) and Zamil Glass, the companybelongs to the joint-stock industrial powerhouse, Zamil Industrial Investment Company (ZIIC). ZAC is the best known in the group as a leading provider of quality industrial air-conditioning equipment.
