Al Mekdad: East Africa potentially an important market

UAE firm Gulf Extrusions is pushing strongly to consolidate its presence in the African market.

The company recently participated in a trade expo in Ethiopia where over the years it has implemented several projects.
At the 14th Ethiopia Trade Expo held at the Addis Ababa Exhibition Centre, Gulf Extrusions showcased its products such as curtain walls and sliding and hinged windows while also leveraging the platform to connect with hundreds of qualified buyers from Ethiopia and neighbouring countries who are looking for new products and technology.

Modar Al Mekdad, general manager, Gulf Extrusions, remarked that the East African market, particularly Ethiopia, held tremendous potential for the company. He noted that the country was listed among the fastest growing non-oil- dependent African nations in recent years and international products were in high demand there. Participation at the expo provided the ideal platform to build on its presence in Ethiopia and tap new market opportunities.
