
Bahrain World Trade Centre (BWTC), Bahrain's iconic twin tower landmark, has announced that leading architecture and engineering consultancy Atkins has moved their Bahrain operations to the 11th and 12thfloors of the BWTC's East Tower.
With this announcement, the BWTC is now 87 per cent leasedand over 80 per cent occupied, and is attracting a wide range of leading localand international institutions to set up operations in the kingdom. Atkins isresponsible for the iconic design of the BWTC and holds among their project portfolio other regional landmarks such as Durrat al Bahrain and the Burj alArab.
Helen Dixon, Northern Gulf marketing manager of Atkins,commented: 'Atkins was commissioned to design, engineer and supervise theconstruction of the Bahrain World Trade Centre, and since the project's inception we have wanted to move in and experience our own work! As the world's first commercial building to incorporate large-scale wind turbines, it is important that our office in Bahrain reflects our creative and engineering abilities. Located in central Manama, the BWTC is a landmark building for businesses in Bahrain and has come to symbolise the business-friendly environment of the kingdom.
