Tecom Investments, a member of Dubai Holding, has announced the launch of a Business Sustainability and Support Centre, providing free consultancy services to help business partners better cope with the global economic downturn.
Mohammad Abdullah, executive director, Dubai Media City, will lead the initiative that will see Tecom-registered companies including Al Tamimi & Company, Biz-Ability, Core, Deloitte, Flagship Project Marketing, Monitor Group Limited, Omnia, Oliver Wymen, Starcom Mediavest Group, The Core Group, Therightslawyers and Value Partners offering strategic advice in finance, marketing, legal affairs and human resources, as well as a strategy and operations to Tecom Investments’ business partners.
The initial round of consultancy sessions, to be spread over a period of three months, can be booked online by business partners on a first-come-first-served basis. A survey will be conducted after each session to effectively track the outcomes of the service.
Dr Amina Al Rustamani, CEO of Tecom Business Parks, said: “The new initiative to provide consultancy services is in line with our overall commitment to act as real partners to our stakeholders. We are confident this initiative will help business partners identify valuable strategies to deal with the financial crisis while safeguarding their interests.”
The consultancy sessions in the area of finance will focus on how companies can better manage their finances in the downturn, while the sessions on marketing will help business partners increase the efficiency of their marketing budget to better position their brand. The centre will also extend legal consultancy on issues such as selling company stakes, dealing with pending or outstanding payments, and employee disputes.
Other sessions will focus on ways to maximise human resources, while offering valuable tips on strategy and operations for ensuring enhanced productivity.
Tecom Investments and its entities offer several programmes that facilitate businesses to focus on expansion. These include SME Builder that is held every quarter and attracts small and medium businesses located inside and outside the Tecom free zones.
Abdullah said: “Tecom values its business partners and aims to extend critical support during the current economic downturn. The specialised service offered by the Business Sustainability and Support Centre will enable companies to surmount the most challenging issues faced in these tough market conditions. Although the measures were a direct response to the financial crisis, the advisory service will still be valid in better times.”
