The seminar in progress

The Dubai Quality Group (DQG) has urged its members and the business community to embrace a systematic and scientific approach to benchmarking, which it said would ensure the best results and deliver a positive impact on business performance.

Marwan Al Sawaleh, chairman of DQG, said benchmarking was critical to business performance and growth.
The group recently held an open seminar focusing on the latest trends on benchmarking as part of a series of activities aimed at reactivating the DQG Benchmarking Subgroup.
The seminar, staged at Le Meridien Hotel – Airport Road, Dubai, featured a powerful line-up of local experts who discussed the latest trends in benchmarking practices.
They included Ali Fadhlani, manager of business excellence programmes and group business excellence, Dubai Holding; Husniya Al Ali, head of customer relations, Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA); Nabil Tabchouri, general manager for international projects, Al Khaleej Sugar; and Rania Hawilo, manager for staffing and employee relations, Dubai Healthcare City.
“Benchmarking gives organisations greater flexibility to develop long-term and short-term strategies that deliver a truly positive impact on their businesses,” said Fadhlani, adding that in a highly competitive environment such as Dubai, having the right concepts and attitude towards benchmarking was an important strategic edge.
