Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the region’s premier integrated innovations hub for high-tech industries, recently hosted a senior business delegation from Hong Kong which is exploring investment opportunities in the information and communications industry.

Senior representatives from leading organisations visited the DSO headquarters as a result of the strong interest shown by Hong Kong companies in the UAE market. The delegation’s visit, led by the Hong King Trade Development Council, was marked by an exchange of knowledge, experience and plans to strengthen economic ties between Dubai and Hong Kong.
The delegation was greeted by Shahla Ahmed Abdul Razak, deputy CEO. Senior DSO Authority managers briefed the group on the technology park’s latest developments, initiatives, and objectives. The visiting delegation was given a thorough presentation of DSO’s operations including what it offered in terms of facilities to potential investors and the procedures to be followed in establishing operations in the oasis.
“The Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority works as a generator for investments in technology, especially the semiconductor and electronics sectors utilised in the telecommunications and computers industries,” said Abdul Razak. She remarked that since its inception, DSOA had invested tremendous efforts to promote and introduce its value proposition on the international level.
“Hong Kong is renowned for its technological achievements and advancements and Dubai Silicon Oasis is pleased to take this opportunity to build strong ties with Hong Kong to stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the industry,” she went on to say.
The visiting delegation commended the DSO’s rapid progress since inception and the vital role it played in the Middle Eastern semiconductors, microelectronics, telecommunications and computer-production industries. They also acknowledged that DSO was the only technology park in the region to specialise in offering IT companies the platform and systems required to make it a frontrunner globally.
