Global carrier TNT has received the Investor in People (IiP) award, the first in the courier industry to win that recognition.
"Achieving the IiP accreditation demonstrates TNT's commitment to staff training and development, said TNT Gulf general manager Mark Pell. "This prestigious award is recognition of the tremendous effort shown by TNT and its employees and proves we are serious about the ongoing development of our people to better serve our customers."
The company said its 30,000 staff employed in 44 countries including the Gulf had been involved in the year-long process to meet the rigorous training and development standards demanded of organisations seeking recognition as an Investor in People.
Meanwhile, TNT's extensive contribution to the hugely successful Dubai City that Cares 2000 promotion was rewarded with an award. A special guest at the glittering awards ceremony was Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, son of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The 38-day promotion was under Shaikh Mohammed's patronage. Shaikh Rashid presented the awards.
TNT Gulf sales and marketing chief Steve Burd, who accepted the award on behalf of the Dutch-owned integrator, said: "We're proud to be a partner in such a worthy and prestigious event. Dubai City that Cares increases business in the city and provides tremendous assistance to charities. It gives TNT the opportunity to once again demonstrate our commitment to Dubai."
