Swift Freight International recently refurbished one of its warehousing facilities at the Jebel Ali Free Zone in a project entailing, besides maintenance work and expansion of the racking system, the installation of 76 heavy-duty air conditioners to ensure an ambient temperature ranging between 26 degrees C and 28 degrees C.
"The warehouse now assures a de-humidified, dust-free, temperature controlled environment when temperatures outside might peak up to 50 degrees C," says the company. The 45000-sq-ft warehouse provides close to 4000 pallet positions, besides a designated picking area containing around 1000 picking positions. The cold store facilities provide options of temperatures as low as - 33 degrees C, which the company says is the lowest storage temperature in the entire Middle East.
"Swift Freight International has been at the forefront of global transportation and logistics for over a decade, providing quality freight logistics services; connecting the world to Dubai and consolidating its position as a strategically vital location in the international freight forwarding scene," the company says. "Combining an experienced and motivated workforce with high-capacity, leading-edge infrastructure, Swift offers customers flexible, highly competitive options in sea freight, air-freight, overland transportation, multi-modal transport services and warehousing and distribution services."
The company has associate offices in over 20 locations in the Middle East, Africa, and the Far East and agency representation worldwide, linking important markets across the continents.
Headquartered in Dubai, it operates from seven offices and freight stations within the UAE. The organisation's two warehousing facilities are located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone.
"Swift Freight's warehousing and distribution division provides total logistical solutions to clients, including complete documentation, packaging, warehousing and distribution services," the company says. It adds that the organisation's multipurpose cold warehouses are suitable for a wide variety of products ranging from confectioneries and electronics to sports apparel.
Its co-packing operations include sorting, stacking and segregating, radio frequency scanning, product labelling, cycle counting, shrink-and-stretch wrapping, date stamping, and quality testing.
"The warehouse's services are also supported by the latest state-of-the-art warehouse management system software, allowing for RF scanning, bar-coding facilities and inventory status and goods efficiency reports at the press of a button, to name a few of the advanced features of the software," says Swift Freight International.
