MESC Specialized Cables recently won a contract worth $15 million from Reliance Industries Limited for supplying cables to the Jamnagar project in India, which is the world’s largest grassroots refinery and aromatics complex.

The contract was announced by the company’s regional manager, Said Al Karram.
The agreement, signed recently by senior officials of the two companies, demonstrates MESC’s position of leadership as the world’s specialised cables manufacturer and supplier, a company statement said.
“MESC Specialized Cables was able to win this contract and compete internationally due to its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and technologies,” said Al Karram. The official highlighted other factors he said were responsible for winning the contract, namely the high quality of the company’s products, suitable cable prices and the tradition of providing swift and reliable services which he said enabled clients to receive deliveries within a time span that no other company could offer.
The Jamnagar complex is the first manufacturing facility of its kind, having a fully integrated petroleum refinery, petrochemicals complex, captive power plants, and a captive port, with related infrastructure. It represents the largest single investment at a single site in India.
The Reliance-Jamnagar project has a refining capacity of over 27 million tonnes per year and annual paraxylene production of 1.5 millions tonnes.
In other comments on MESC’s role in the project, Al Karram said: “The company continues to enhance its strategic position within the industry securing major orders both regionally and internationally.”
The official noted that MESC was developing into becoming one of the most active companies worldwide with an increasing presence in many international markets and adherence to high standards of quality and reliability. The company was also playing an integral role in the growth and development of the cables industry.
