The TTE Technical Training Group, the UK’s largest employer-led technical training provider in the oil and gas, process and engineering sector, has established a new facility in the UAE to better service the growing local oil and gas market.
“This exciting development will better support TTE’s commitment to the region and will see the reinvestment of its profits from its Gulf commercial business into its apprenticeship training programmes for young people in the Tees Valley,” TTE said in a statement.
“TTE currently gets a significant number of opportunities to deliver training and consultancy services in countries such as Kuwait, UAE, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia,” it added.
“However, in order to further strengthen these key relationships, TTE will have a stronger presence in the market and be even closer to its potential customers and strategic partners.”
Based in Dubai’s Knowledge Village, TTE’s new office will be manned by a team of experienced and skilled technical training specialists and headed up by its strategic development director, Peter Jackson.
Jackson is relocating to Dubai to lead the project and will oversee the recruitment of new personnel who will be engaged in delivering bespoke specialist training to the oil and gas sectors.
Jackson said: “Over the past few years The TTE Technical Training Group has increasingly moved towards delivering training to the upstream oil and gas sector, specifically to the international market.
“This has been based around TTE’s capability to work with key partners to deliver internationally-recognised competency-based training solutions to countries where more skilled technicians and graduates are desperately required, particularly in those countries where there is a developing ‘localisation’ agenda ie training locals to replace expatriate workers.
“Initially this international training base will be the ‘hub’ for activities across the Gulf region, with several people being based in this office within the first 12 months of operation. The intention is to also recruit associates as trainers and consultants from further afield than the UK in order to more easily service this region.”
