The Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority (Jafza) has honoured the National Fire Fighting Manufacturing Company (Naffco) for receiving the prestigious Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award (MRM Business Award) in the export category.
“We are proud that one of the Jebel Ali Free Zone-based companies received the award,” said Salma Hareb, CEO, Jafza. She described the award as one of the few in the region that acknowledged the contribution of the business sector to the overall progress of the national economy and added it would give a tremendous boost to the large number of companies operating in the free zone and the UAE.
Hareb had recommended the names of three assessors — Khaled Ahmed, business developments manager; Fadi Ahmed, business analyst, and PR Bhandari, management accountant – for conducting assessments of Jafza companies.

The very latest information technology has allowed us to consolidate our unsurpassed logistics capabilities whether by sea, land or air. Today we prepare ourselves for a most promising future by focusing on the refinement and upgrading of every aspect of our services, and to continue our commitment to make Jafza a dynamic, thriving place to do business,” said Hareb.
“The MRM award process provided an ideal platform to participating firms for sharing information about best practices, technical knowhow and ideas. Jafza’s involvement with the award was an excellent learning experience for us, and the feedback we have received will help us to improve facilities and services offered by the free zone. As Jafza continues to attract companies from various industrial sectors, we are committed to boosting Dubai’s image as a top business destination,” added the chief executive.
Naffco is a leading UAE-based manufacturer, assembler and trader of fire fighting and safety equipment and materials, water pumps, fire engines, paints, hoses and related spare parts. The Jordanian company sees the MRM Business Award as a recognition and celebration of its contribution to the economic development of the United Arab Emirates.
Receiving the MRM export award confirms the company’s position as an outstanding exporter of locally manufactured or value-added goods. From its modern and sophisticated production facilities at the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Naffco manufactures high quality fire protection equipment and systems and exports these to 70 countries through authorised agents and distributors all over the world.
This high level of business performance with the overriding emphasis on quality has been possible because of the state-of-the-art infrastructure and strategic business advantages offered by Jafza to its host companies. Altogether 18 companies registered themselves for the award.
The company has over 1,000 employees.
