Airport Expo, where the show will be held

Dubai World Trade Centre has announced that the Middle East’s largest and fastest growing watch and jewellery show will take place at the recently renovated and expanded Airport Expo from December 5 to 9.

The move to Airport Expo’s new halls will accommodate the demand for increased exhibition space from the local and international watch and jewellery trade.
The show, now renamed Watch & Jewellery Dubai (WJD), adds a new dimension and extends the profile of the former International Jewellery Dubai (IJD) to include the growing watch sector.
“WJD characterises the natural growth and progression of the jewellery trade in the region and further enhances the product offerings,” said DWTC director general Helal Saeed Khalfan Al Marri.
The move forms part of the strategic plan by organisers DWTC to reinforce Watch & Jewellery Dubai as one of the prime exhibitions in the international exhibitions calendar.
The Middle East is a region where luxury watch brands generate almost 10 per cent of their entire global sales.  The UAE has consistently ranked among the top 15 importers of prestige watches in the last few years and in 2004 the country was ranked at number 11.
Items on display at the five-day event include cut and uncut gemstones, gold, platinum and silver jewellery, gem-sets, precious and semi-precious jewellery, precious and semi-precious stones, bullion, antique jewellery, branded costume jewellery, branded watches and clocks, silverware, part-finished jewellery, packaging and display materials and manufacturing tools and machinery.
