Most Gitex space booked
Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has announced that 80 per cent of the stand space for Gitex 2005, the exhibition’s 25th edition, had already been sold out by the last week of June.

The event will take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from September 25 to 29.
“The response from exhibitors has been tremendous this year as we celebrate 25 years of serving the needs of the IT industry,” said DWTC international project manager, Claire Winfield. “The success of Gitex in attracting top exhibitors from around the world is a clear reflection of the phenomenal growth of the IT market in the Mena region.”  The official added that the market was set to grow by almost 94 per cent from current levels to $13.4 billion in 2008.

Campaign launched
Trend Micro Middle East and Africa has said the company is launching a new campaign to raise awareness of technology crime, and educate computer users about better ways to protect computers from hacking and other malicious activities.
The campaign, entitled Licence to Love (Legal Organised Virus Elimination), uses a secret agent thematic to highlight the shady world of malware, the importance of technology security and the availability of Trend Micro products which counteract the growing threat.
The campaign will also be conducted at Trend Micro’s Gitex 2005 stand.
