

Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard (Asry) has reported the highest ever total revenue in its history, achieving $93 million in 2004.
The company board reviewed unaudited financial statements for the year in which the company achieved an operational profit of $9.4 million.
The meeting was headed by Asry chairman Eid Abdulla Yousif and attended by representatives of shareholding countries.
The board also re-elected Shaikh Salman Humood Al-Sabah, representative of Kuwait, as first deputy chairman and Khalid Ali Al Hosani, representative of the UAE, as second deputy chairman.
The board reviewed last year’s achievements including repairing 132 ships, up from 120 ships in 2003.
It also discussed various administrative, financial and marketing matters including new development plans. It was also informed about the progress of work in projects currently being carried out by the company.
