Crawford is one of the world’s top names in industrial doors and dock loading systems.

Saudi Crawford Doors Factory, a leading manufacturer and assembler of industrial doors and docking systems, has announced it recently supplied a number of its products for various applications to parties in Saudi Arabia.

“We received and completed some projects for major customers in food, transport and distribution companies,” said general manager Roger Boogh.
“Panda Azizia Mall in Hypermarket Riyadh placed an order for fire roller shutter doors, high-speed doors and overhead sectional doors,” Boogh said while listing some of the projects.
“Al Safi-Danone bought a large number of overhead sectional doors, high-speed doors and docking systems for their Sales Depot in Riyadh.
“Recently, we completed installations for Almarai - a very large number of overhead sectional doors and high-speed doors.  Uniquely designed dock levellers including dock shelters were also supplied at the same facility.
“IKEA selected Crawford Hafa complete docking systems for their new facility in Jeddah.  Abu Dawood New Logistics Center in Jeddah placed an order for overhead sectional doors, dock levellers and dock shelters.”
Saudi Crawford has a strong presence in the kingdom and a solid reputation stemming from its own quality operations and the position of its joint venture partner Crawford, which is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of industrial doors and dock loading systems. Crawford is also recognised as the market leader in providing service on those products besides being one of the largest manufacturers of residential garage doors in Europe.
Crawford is part of the Swedish public engineering group Cardo, which has an annual turnover of close to 850 million euros ($1.1 billion) and a strong international position in the areas of doors, docking and pumps. It boasts more than one million industrial doors and docking systems sold worldwide and has 3,000 dedicated specialists to provide customised solutions as well as modifications and upgrading when needs change.
The company’s extensive portfolio includes overhead sectional doors, folding doors, fast-acting doors, Megadoor, dock loading systems and service and upgrading.
“Production methods with an intense flow of goods, such as “Just-In-Time” or “Lean Production”, might need fast-acting or especially endurable doors,” says a Crawford spokesman.
“High demands on truck bed utilisation often require a dock leveller with a telescopic lip. Operations in particularly harsh conditions, or where very large door openings are in use, may require doors in special materials. Only a supplier in full control of the whole process - from product development and design to manufacture, installation and service - can promise to meet such high requirements.”
Finding the right door and docking solution is a matter of safety, protection, operational conditions, cost efficiency and building design. Other important parameters are working environment and energy savings.
“Once installed, the products must provide reliable and trouble-free performance under all circumstances. Should a breakdown occur, for example, after a collision, a repair service must be available before the close of the working day,” the spokesman stresses.
The importance of prompt and professional response to damaged or malfunctioning parts can hardly be exaggerated.
“Regular maintenance secures functionality, increases product lifetime and reduces operational costs,” underlines the spokesman.
“Crawford provides service on its own and other equipment. More than 1,000 skilled service engineers rapidly take care of urgent repairs as well as maintenance. We therefore make continuous investments in the most extensive service organisation within the industry.”
The company combines global presence with local expertise and its products are marketed by subsidiaries and distributors in some 30 European countries as well as in Asia, the USA and the Middle East.
The company’s plants are located in Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, the US, China and Saudi Arabia (joint venture). The most important manufacturing and sales units are certified under the ISO 9000 and 9002 quality assurance systems. They are also gradually being environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14000 and 14001.
