Epson launches printersfor regional market

The LQ-590

They offer a 10 per cent increase in printer speed, and improved print head longevity over predecessor models, the LQ-580 and LQ-2080.

The company also launched the AcuLaser Colour Station 8600+, its latest colour laser print and copy device that delivers network printing and scanning, local copying functionality and A3 media support.
“The LQ-590 and LQ-2090 reinforce Epson’s superiority in the dot matrix market, with Epson currently owning in excess of 60 per cent of the total Dot Matrix Market across Europe,” a company spokesman said.  Both models boast high print speeds of up to 529 cps to ensure even the largest of print jobs are finished in the shortest time.
The two printers have been developed with a Mean Volume Between Failure (MVBF) of 40 million lines. This guarantees an extremely long printer life and the print head life of 400 million strokes/wire results in longer periods between replacement cycles. The increased longevity of the printers also extends to the related consumables and both printers feature new ribbons with five million (LQ-590) and eight million (LQ-2090) characters.
Improved printing versatility has also been achieved by including a flexible paper management system, which allows paper insertion from front, top, rear, and bottom. Two optional cut sheet feeders enable the storage of up to 200 sheets.  The LQ-590 comes with a Front Sheet Guide, which makes it easy to insert sheets from the front side.
Epson’s AcuLaser Colour Station 8600+, its latest colour laser print and copy device, delivers network printing and scanning, local copying functionality and A3 media support.
“Offering a complete colour printing solution, the new product is ideal for businesses and graphic designers looking for a fast turnaround on high-quality output,” a company spokesman said.
“A combination of the AcuLaser 8600 A3W colour laser printer and the GT-15000 A3 scanner, the device offers users maximum flexibility and usability. Designed for networked business users, the AcuLaser Color Station 8600+ meets the needs of those who require the added efficiency and productivity provided by a single, integrated colour imaging solution,” the spokesman said.
The AcuLaser Colour Station 8600+ offers high-speed network printing up to 8 ppm colour and 35 ppm black and white, ensuring output is fast irrespective of printing a text-based or image-heavy document. For network functionality and compatibility, the AcuLaser Colour Station 8600+ supports standard 10/100 BaseTx network protocols and data compression technology, enabling any group of users to simultaneously print without delay. Additionally, Epson’s ASIC printing technology offers users job reprints, verification and storage.
Utilising the GT-15000 scanner, the AcuLaser Color Station 8600+ offers users full colour network scanning at 4 msec/line at a resolution of 600 x 1200 dpi.
