Henkel, the global pioneer in the field of surface treatment of aluminium, has awarded exclusive rights of its recently patented Spectrocolor anodising process for all GCC countries, excepting Saudi Arabia, to Gulf Extrusions.

Robert Holtkamp, Gulf Extrusions director of sales and marketing, said the association with Henkel was initially established to bring world-class technologies to the GCC region. “The addition of the innovative new Spectrocolor anodising process to our technological strengths will allow us to offer revolutionary new aesthetics to the trusted aluminium products for the regional construction sector,” he added.
“Henkel Surface Technologies has always been the pioneer in the field of surface treatment of aluminium, continually supporting new applications of this lightweight material. The lunar module was treated with our products and the first sealing smut inhibitors to improve the quality of anodising processes were developed by Henkel Surface Technologies,” said Dr Torsten Koerner - marketing manager, Henkel KGaA.
Gulf Extrusions, the UAE-based market leader in aluminium extrusion for the GCC region, has announced a projected 15 per cent market growth for the year 2004.
It said the growth would be based on a three-pronged strategy of building on the company’s already considerable 50 per cent market share in the UAE market, the increase of its exports to other GCC and Middle East countries, as well as its entry into new global markets following the company’s success in penetrating several markets in Europe, West Africa, Asia and Canada.
