Borouge products highlighted
Borouge underlined its position as the preferred supplier of polyolefins when it participated in the recently completed show, Dubai Plast Pro 2004.
The event brings together polymer industry experts from all around the world. Speaking at the opening of the conference, Hubert Puchner, chief executive for Borouge Pte Ltd said: "In recent years there has been a tremendous growth in demand for polyolefins as consumers begin to recognise the benefits of polyethylene pipes when compared with non-polymeric solutions. “The challenge we face as an industry is to ensure we can meet this demand and provide the technical support for developing markets, particularly in Asia."
RAK free zone contracts Tabreed
Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) has contracted Tabreed, the National Central Cooling Company, to render cooling services in three of its industrial areas over a 20-year period.
The announcement came at a time when Tabreed had a spate of orders from prestigious parties and was excited over its success in raising funds from the capital market to fund expansions. It recently cleared the markets with its $100 million Islamic Sukuk offering, the highlights of which included a maturity period of five years and a coupon of 5.50 per cent.
Under the terms of the contract with RAK FTZ, Tabreed will link the free zone to its existing district cooling scheme in Ras Al Khaimah to provide chilled water for cooling purposes.
