False ceilings have become commonplace in commercial and residential establishments, but innovativeness, range and versatility are what really stand out.
One company that is going all out to give customers a vital extra edge in terms of aesthetics, utility and economy is Taliah Trading & Industrial Company.
Taliah has said its recent launch of false ceiling panels in wider dimensions has proved to be an instant success.
“These false ceiling models can be installed on existing suspension systems thereby giving customers a chance to be modern at the least expense and in a minimum time frame,” the Riyadh-based company said.
“Additionally, 60 cm x 60 cm aluminium panels are also available at Taliah in the traditional lay-in and clip-in styles for false ceiling systems. More new designs are in the development stage and will be manufactured exclusively in our latest state-of-the-art roll-formers that are already in action.”
The new models in false ceiling panels are among several products the company recently introduced.
A new manufacturing unit opened for the production of vertical blinds and venetian blinds along with folding doors, a development Taliah said indicated it was keen to expand capacity to meet customers’ demands on every single product in interior applications.
“The blinds are offered in a wide variety of colours with the latest technical quality and are tailor-made for the customers whereas the exotic doors are made to perfection on customers’ requirements in plain shades and with glass designs.”
The company is also in the process of expanding its manufacturing unit for kitchen cabinets. New kitchen designs are being offered to customers while there will also be customisation.
Taliah is also one of the leading trading firms in Saudi Arabia.
“Taliah’s trading division still stands first for the excellent quality of HPL (formica) sheets it gets from Europe and Asia, and the Italian-designed kitchen filters are the best in the market in terms of quality and hygienic designs,” it says. “The Logica models in these filter hoods allows customers to be at ease with their ‘intelligent systems’.”
Taliah commented on other products its trading division handled.
“Spiral staircases and ceiling ladders of European origin are unique in quality, space saving and ease of installation. Taliah’s laminated flooring has started to become a common name in all households and offices, outclassing the traditional flooring systems with its hygienically superior product and various awesome wood designs.”
The company’s website https://www.taliah.com.sa has proved very useful to customers and the company plans to introduce e-commerce to boost business through the web. At present Taliah has an annual turnover of more than $8 million.
“The setting up of new showrooms in Riyadh, Jeddah and Yanbu is considered as the stepping stone for new business plans for this millennium,” it said. The company is also in the process of acquiring an ISO certification.
Khalid Turki, the deputy general manager, is confident his team will identify products for development once innovative ideas are examined and research is undertaken.
Taliah Trading and Industrial Company was formed in 1980 in Riyadh as a partnership establishment with a handful of aspiring employees.
“It was formed with the basic objective of revolutionising the Middle East construction sector that was lacking indoor beauty,” a company spokesman said. “We are proud to be known as the pioneers in false ceilings, partition products and aluminium kitchen cabinets.”
Taliah’s sister companies are Al Andalus Trading Co, Riyadh; Granada Aluminium Factory, Riyadh; Safa Aluminium Factory, Dammam; Saudi Aluminium Factory, Riyadh; Reem Shoe Factory, Riyadh, and Al Andalus Glass Co, Riyadh
Taliah Company operates through the following divisions: Taliah Trading Division, Taliah Industrial Division and Abdul Rahman Abdul Latif Al Brahim and Partners Aluminium Kitchen Cabinet Factory.
Since Taliah’s formation in 1980, the trading division has dealt with globally branded interior products and industrial machines from Europe.
The products include high-pressure laminated (HPL) items, kitchen filter hoods and exhaust fans, kitchen cabinets and accessories, vinyl and laminate flooring, gypsum and aluminium ceiling tiles, acrylic and stainless steel kitchen sinks, spiral staircases and ceiling ladders, folding doors and venetian and vertical blinds among other things.
“The introduction of HPL sheets or “Formica” in thickness from 1.6 mm to 20 mm created a new line of business for more than 500 factories and workshops in Riyadh city itself. The company expanded itself in vertical and horizontal directions as the years passed by,” the spokesman recalled.
“Taliah’s branches spread into all major cities of Saudi Arabia to cater to the needs of ever-increasing customers. The company also boasts large numbers of customers from the GCC region and other countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Sudan, Yemen and Mauritania.”
Almost all the products of the trading division are imported from Europe and its major suppliers include Spanish companies Puriplast Iberica, Aquastyl, Deltec, Menage & Confort and Rodiberica; Italian companies Tecnowind, Sidex, Liri Industriale, Forte and Dimes and UAE companies Technomec Building Industries and Emirates Yedessa.
In 1981 the company established a manufacturing unit in Riyadh for producing partitions and doors exclusively made of solid high-pressure laminated sheets with specially designed aluminium profile systems.
Later it diversified into the production of lineal-metal-suspended ceilings made of pre-painted aluminium and anodised aluminium coils. This unit was christened Taliah Formica Doors & Partitions and Metal False Ceiling Factory. Over the years Taliah Factory became one of the biggest producers of suspended ceilings in the Middle East with three branches in Dammam, Jeddah and Buraidah.
These products are available in many colours, thickness and sizes and some are unique, says Taliah. To enforce international standards, the company conducts inspections very carefully.
“New colours are introduced regularly according to customers’ tastes that we determine through vigorous market research. Our expert workers undertake the installation of false ceiling systems and partitions with a professional touch,” the company says.
The factory clientele includes parties engaged in various activities from small-scale business units to major public and private sector offices with 250 clients in Riyadh alone. The raw materials for this unit are imported from Europe and from European subsidiary companies operating in the UAE.
Some of the factory’s major suppliers are Alcan Alluminio and Dallan, both from Italy; Alcoa Transformacion from Spain, Germany’s Alanod Aluminium, the UK’s Metalloxyd Ano-Coil and UAE firms Al Khaleej Metal Coating Company and Intermetal Ltd.
In 1985 the Abdul Rahman Abdul Latif Al Brahim & Partners Aluminium Kitchen Cabinet Factory was opened in Jeddah. With a view to manufacturing durable products, the company purchases raw materials from quality-driven companies around the world. Its draftsmen create standard designs as well as prepare designs suggested by customers. The company also undertakes to install the finished products at the customer’s premises.
The factory’s major suppliers are Puriplast Iberica and Deltec of Spain, Gulf Extrusions, Dubai; Saudi Aluminium Factory, Riyadh, and Alupco, Dammam.
“The growth of Taliah Company from just a trading firm to its present status of a multi-faceted business organisation did not occur in a day. It happened over years of constant struggle and strategic planning,” said the company spokesman
“Our marketing team regularly monitors the Middle East market and suggests possibilities of introducing new products to maintain our status as pioneers. We are rewarded by the overwhelming response we get for the products we launch.
“These surveys also help us to become more competitive in our approach to customers and in providing quality products and services.”
