Al Babtain: street luminaires with modern, modular design

Al Babtain Industries, which recently introduced to its market two types of street lighting luminaires, is currently implementing projects worth more than $16 million in the Gulf region. The company also recently completed a contract in Ethiopia and was nearing the end of another in Cyprus.

One of the new products form Al Babtain is a street lighting fixture of type Gulf 2000, 400-600 watts HPM, HPS and MH. It was described as a new modular concept in the design of road lighting luminaires, incorporating the latest and most efficient HID lamps as well as excellent optical system and control gears.

The other new product is a street lighting fixture of type Tripoli 01/02 in 250-400Watts HPM, HPS and MH. It is being promoted as a new luminaire with a modern modular design and dedicated faceted optics to optimise beam control and maximise light output.

The company is also supplying steel monopoles, which are heavy structures used in transmission line networks ranging from 66 KV to 250KV and in the telecommunications sector as antenna structures.

Al Babtain is currently working on several projects including ones for the PAHW, Kuwait, worth $3 million; Al Rayyan and Al Ittihad Stadium, Qatar, for the supply of high masts and lighting poles worth $320,000; North Relief road projects, Qatar, lighting poles and high masts, $1.2 million; Dubai Municipality, UAE, lighting poles, $400,000; Water Electricity Authority, Abu Dhabi, lighting poles, $7.5 million, and Sceco-East, supply of steel monopoles, $4 million.

A project it has on hand is worth $357,364. It was entrusted to it by RA-35, Kuwait. Al Babtain recently completed a project worth $450,000 for an Addis Ababa ring road, and was due to complete the supply of lighting poles worth $400,000 to EA, Cyprus, in June, 2001.

The company's lighting design department has expert lighting engineers who provide cost-effective and energy-saving illumination designs with the help of an in-house computer-aided lighting design facility. The company also provides technical services for solving all types of lighting problems.
