A view of the Teco plant
Within a year of beginning commercial operations, motor manufacturer Teco Middle East (TME) has received a clutch of orders from within and outside Saudi Arabia.
In Saudi Arabia the company is currently implementing supply orders for Princess Noura University and King Saud University, both in Riyadh; King Abdul Aziz International Airport, Jeddah; Makkah Haram Expansion Project and Ajiad Expansion, both in Makkah; King Faisal University Expansion, Al Hasa, and Aramco’s Petro Rabigh.
It will also supply its motors to a number of non-Saudi projects including Dubai International Airport and The Pearl-Qatar.
Teco Middle East’s facility in Dammam’s Second Industrial City produces induction motors from 200 hp to 13,000 hp with a capacity of 600 units per year. It also has capability to load test all motors of its range and larger.
The motors’ design, manufacturing processes, quality control procedures and technology are all licensed by its international counterparts, Teco-Westinghouse of the US and Taiwan.
TME facilities include a coil shop of 1,000 sq m where low, medium and high voltage coils are manufactured with up-to-date coil manufacturing machineries.
The coil shop capacity is 600 sets per year and the unit is mainly dedicated to supporting the company’s motor production. TME is certified to manufacture coils according to the Teco-Westinghouse insulation system, branded as ThermalasticEpoxy Insulation.
The TME complex also includes a testing facility and a repair shop. It provides services including a condition assessment programme (CAP), field services, after-sale services and long-term maintenance for customers.
