NHIs’ range of water heaters

National Heaters Industries (NHI) has recently launched its Coolex range of air purifiers, water purifiers, dispensers and refrigerators.

General manager SL Mohandas says the short-term sales volume has been positive, and that the firm will soon launch a Gulf marketing campaign to expand unit sales.
NHI is part of the Omar Zawawi Establishment (Omzest).
The company manufactures a range of domestic and large-capacity storage-type electric water heaters under the brand names Hotex and Sunex.
From its modest beginnings in 1988, the company has grown to become one of the Gulf’s leading manufacturers of electric water heaters, according to Mohandas.
“Hotex is considered the standard for designing and manufacturing water heaters,” he adds. “An uncompromising approach to quality control and continuous upgrading of technology through research and development has been the key to this success.”
Mohandas says water heaters are manufactured using high quality raw materials and components. A modern manufacturing plant manned by professionals and skilled technicians, extensive distribution network and prompt service ensures quality, safety, durability, reliability and availability at competitive prices.
“The heaters are available in glass lined, copper and galvanised steel versions in capacities ranging from 10 litres to 500 litres with a host of special features as standard,” he notes. “Different mounting options, range of colours and optional accessories ensure heaters for all types of applications and specifications.”
Hotex water heaters conform to both Omani and Saudi standards, as well as to Chinese and Singapore standards.
The brand includes a magnesium anode, which provides cathodic protection inside the boiler. It is attacked by the dissolved salts in the water and is sacrificed in preference to the boiler body. This arrests corrosion and enhances the life of the boiler.
Mohandas says various independent agencies and government departments have approved Hotex for its quality and reliability, including SGS Inspection Services (Saudi Arabia), Public Authority for Housing (Kuwait), Ministry of Electricity and Water (Qatar), Defence Force (Bahrain), Petroleum Development (Oman), Ministry of Health (Oman), Royal Oman Police, and Ministry of Housing (Oman).
“Our water heaters are exported to all Gulf countries, as well as to Yemen, Lebanon, Libya, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and China,” he continues. “We also undertake private label manufacturers.”
Mohandas points out that all units are guaranteed against manufacturing defects.
He says standard NHI features include safety valve, insulative polyurethane foam, anti-splash mechanism, earthing device, heating element, thermostat, neon light, thermometer, outer body and testing.
While every heater comes with a detailed installation guide, Mohandas suggests that they be installed indoors or under cover/shade to safeguard against electric shock and rust.
