The 126th meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has reviewed the progress achieved in the GCC Customs Union, and the adoption of the periodic report on monitoring the progress of the Gulf Common Market.
The meeting, held in Bahrain, was chaired by Minister of Finance and National Economy of Bahrain Sheikh Salman Al Khalifa, with the participation of the GCC ministers of finance and the GCC secretary-general, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.
The ministers also discussed regional developments and their potential implications for GCC countries, as well as ways to strengthen joint coordination in addressing them. The Saudi Minister of Finance Mohammed Aljadaan headed the kingdom’s delegation.
Minister Aljadaan also participated in the joint meeting between the finance ministers and central bank governors of the GCC countries and Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva. The meeting participants discussed an IMF paper titled “Economic Prospects and Policy Challenges: Enhancing Economic Resilience to Geopolitical Shocks".—TradeArabia News Service
