Industrial Nanotech Inc, which is active in the Middle East, has announced it is entering the commercial, industrial and residential roofing markets with a new line of lightweight roof coatings that lower energy costs, provide protection against fire, and keep roofs cleaner.

“We will be launching three new products in Q3 2009,” said Stuart Burchill, CEO/CTO of the company. “Nansulate RF-IC is designed for industrial and commercial flat roofs and provides exceptional thermal insulation and protection against fire.”
Burchill said the product would substantially lower air conditioning bills in a school or factory and protect the building from fire in the event burning embers fell on it.
“Nansulate RF-M is specifically designed for corrugated metal roofs and provides exceptional thermal insulation and protection against corrosion. Nansulate RF-R is a clear coating designed for tile, slate, or shingle roofs on residences and office or retail buildings and provides exceptional thermal insulation and protection against mold, mildew, and algae growth.”
Burchill said the roofing and re-roofing market represented one of the largest total surface areas suitable for Industrial Nanotech technologies and expressed confidence the patented line of products, with their unique and valuable performance qualities, would be successful in this arena. “To offer some perspective, just the US federal government work available is larger than almost every other market sector we serve. Additionally, there are international mandates to lower energy costs in both government and private sector buildings and facilities.”
The official referred to the US Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) (Pub Law 110-140) containing new energy use requirements for federal buildings and The European Union Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings.
Nansulate is the company’s patented product line of award-winning, specialty coatings containing a nanotechnology based material and which are well-documented to provide the combined performance qualities of thermal insulation, corrosion prevention, resistance to mold growth, fire resistance, chemical resistance and lead encapsulation in an environmentally safe, water-based, coating formulation. The Nansulate product line includes industrial, residential, architectural, agricultural and solar thermal insulation coatings.
Nansulate coatings have been used by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd at their Ruwais plant. Earlier this year the company announced it successfully completed an application of Nansulate EPX-K at a petrochemical facility in the Middle East.
