Gases and engineering company BOC has introduced compact-sized high pressure vessels for supplying liquid gases which it stresses are an improvement over an original system. BOC said the new system delivers economic and other advantages. The compact high pressure vessels are designed to supply liquid laser nitrogen and liquid oxygen for various Australian manufacturing applications. They are tailored for speciality gas customers who use 100-400m³ of gas per week and are looking to save on cost and space. The mini bulk supply and service system is currently available to hold liquid laser nitrogen and liquid oxygen for industrial applications such as laser cutting of stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminium as well as process purging and oxy fuel cutting. BOC market manager for advanced gas applications Deian Jones says that the new mini bulk high pressure vessels are better than the earlier system of multiple linked cylinders or manifold packs as they provide significant economic, production and space-saving advantages. The new system also reduces the risk of handling injuries caused by manually changing over cylinder packs, he says. The mini bulk supply makes it easier to manage variable demand and offers significant productivity savings, cost-effective supply, consistently high-purity liquid, low filling losses, modest installation costs and increased gas storage in compact cryogenic liquid vessels. Once the compact high pressure vessel is installed on site at a modest set-up cost, the gases are delivered by BOC in small, rigid road tankers designed for easy site access. In addition to offering a range of flexible delivery options, BOC can even monitor a business’s gas levels remotely to schedule top-ups when required. BOC is a member of The Linde Group which supplies compressed and bulk gases, chemicals and equipment around the globe.
