Activity at a previous Airport Show

The forthcoming Airport Show will see key industry majors from across the world participating, its organiser Reed Exhibitions Middle East says.

The show, to be held from May 31 to June 2 at the Airport Expo in Dubai, is dedicated to airport construction, operations, technology and services.

ADB Airfield Solutions, Smiths Detection ME FZE, Siemens ME, AXA Power and ADPi are some of the companies that have pledged to showcase their products and solutions at the show which will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, chairman of Dubai Airports and chairman and chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

Airport Show 2011 will host suppliers of equipment and services covering all areas of airport development and operations under one roof, offering a one-stop platform that caters to the needs of airports in the region. It will feature solutions in security, ground support equipment, supply, airport revenue management, design and build, technology and, air traffic management as well as operations, training and recruitment.

Impetus to projects

According to the Middle East Airport Security Market Assessment Report, safety and security remains an important focus that grows in parallel with the ongoing airport construction activity witnessed in the region. The study has estimated that the region accounts for 14.4 per cent of the global critical infrastructure protection market. Spending in the Middle East on security-related equipment and service is also set to increase to Dh212 million ($57.7million) by 2015, according to research.

A perfect forum
