The Dow Chemical Company has announced that its breakthrough product Safetouch fibreglass-free insulation is now available on a mass scale – in the US.
“Many consumers have long desired an insulation product that is healthy for families and homes and provides itch-free installation,” said Amy Millslagle, Dow Building Solutions marketing director. “Safetouch is a breakthrough product that delivers on these needs and we’re pleased to finally be able to offer it in wide distribution.”
Safetouch insulation is gaining significant traction with homeowners, particularly those with families in the 25-44-year-old age segment, Dow said. A technical breakthrough by Dow in the traditional fibreglass category, the thermal and acoustic insulation is made from polyester fibres – the same material used in clothing – so it’s itch-free, safe and healthy for consumers’ families and their homes.
Safetouch insulation is described as fibreglass-free, contributes to improved indoor air quality, doesn’t support mould growth, doesn’t contain added formaldehyde or borates and contains recycled materials.
