Imaging technology products specialist Epson (UK) has won a major order from the Saudi Education Ministry, the company announced.
The deal, Epson's single biggest order in the Kingdom, is for supplying the ministry with a total of 725 Epson products. These include 225 laser printers (Epson EPL-5700L), 300 scanners (Perfection 610) and 300 inkjet printers (Epson Stylus Colour 480). All the products are to be installed in government schools across the Kingdom.
"A variety of different vendors presented demonstration units to the Ministry of Education and all these products underwent thorough examination and comparison as to their individual reliability, durability, quality output as well as user friendliness. Epson products scored highly and also proved to be competitively priced," said Epson Middle East general manager Jonathan Baker.
Expressing pride in Epson's distributor in Saudi Arabia, Saudisoft, in securing the order, Baker said: "This is a very important deal for Epson in many ways. Not only is it financially important, but more so because of the people who are using the products. Today's youth is tomorrow's consumer and we believe that not only will Epson products be fulfilling a very serious role in helping in their education, but we also hope that they will find the products fun to use as well." Epson (UK) Ltd is part of the Seiko Epson Corporation.
