Palm Utilities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Istithmar World PJSC, a major investment holding company incorporated in the Dubai World Group, has recently commissioned two new projects as the company continues to expand its operations and deliver its world-class utility solutions to prime development projects in the region.
The two projects will provide complete turnkey operations to Phase 2 of Discovery Gardens and the Palm Jumeirah Trunk developments.
The Discovery Gardens project, undertaken by Palm District Cooling (PDC), will supply 104,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) through three district cooling plants, while the Palm Jumeirah Trunk project, undertaken by PDC and Palm Water, will deliver up to 105,000 TR through four district cooling plants.
Palm Utilities further announced that two other projects currently undergoing construction would also commence operations soon: the first two phases of the 120,000 TR serving Atlantis on Palm Jumeirah Crescent and the first phase of the 105,000 TR for Jumeirah Lake Towers.
Ahmed Butti, director general of Dubai Customs and chairman of Palm Utilities, said the company had leveraged the expertise and state-of-the-art technologies of Palm District Cooling and Palm Water to deliver comprehensive utility solutions to the most prestigious property development projects in the UAE.
The scale of the projects and the high level of quality maintained had been crucial factors in boosting demand for the utility solutions the company was offering, Butti said.
In addition, the launch of the new projects in Discovery Gardens and Palm Jumeirah Trunk would further improve the company’s reputation as a leader in its highly critical industry, he added.
