There were 76 industries operating in Yanbu in 2007, of which 12 were primary, 16 secondary and 48 light, the Yanbu directorate of the Royal Commission of Jubail and Yanbu said.

The industries entailed a total investment of SR54.4 billion with primary industries accounting for SR44.16 billion, secondary SR8.87 billion and light SR1.36 billion.
Six new companies began operations during 2007.
Infrastructure projects under construction include the corridor in Yanbu-2 Phase 1, south of Saudi Aramco’s refinery and west of the Jeddah-Yanbu highway. Another project which is in the design stage is the coastal road and grading of the future utility corridor in Yanbu 2, extending from the intersection of King Fahad Road to the gas plant road along the Red Sea coastline.
Jubail and Yanbu are the major contributors to the kingdom’s growth strategy for petrochemicals and energy-intensive industries.
