Dar Metal Industries has announced it has completed a project at the King Faisal University campus in Dammam where it accomplished structural steel work and aluminium composite cladding.
The project, done for the King Faisal Foundation, was valued at SR6.35 million ($1.69 million) and took six months to complete, said company general manager Mohammed Salman.
Salman said the university job was one of several contracts it had been working on during the past few months including the Al Shubaily Grand Mall in Al Khobar and the El Ajou head office in Riyadh.
Dar Metal’s engineering and production facilities are situated in the Sulai area of Riyadh. According to the official, the factory is equipped to produce any type and size of structural and architectural metal products and is under “continuous expansion.”
“Dar Metal was founded with the objective of providing tangible solutions in a cost-effective manner and in keeping with delivery schedules while adhering to quality and specifications,” said Salman.
Among the products it manufactures are guardrails, handrails, ballustrades, gratings, fences, staircases, balconies and canopies. It also accepts orders for skylights, industrial building structures and ornamental and decorative work.
The company hopes to achieve up to SR25 million in sales by the end of 2007 or early 2008, Salman said.
Dar Metal has succeeded in winning numerous orders for the work it specialises in and these it has executed in different parts of Saudi Arabia. In recent months, it completed structural steel work for composite columns at Granada Centre in Riyadh and installed a mild steel main entrance at a Carrefour hypermarket in the same city. It also executed orders for aluminium cladding and structural glazing work at the Abdulaziz Al Moosa Commercial Centre, Jeddah, a steel structure at Al Athel Charity Dome Building and a 32 m steel bridge at Specialised Medical Clinic, both in Riyadh.
It also erected a mild steel canopy and stainless steel balustrades for Arcade Centre, Riyadh, and installed mild steel flush doors for the Ministry of Interior.
The company appears to have had a very crowded order book. In Riyadh it provided mild steel door frames and mild steel decorative external cladding for King Khalid University Hospital and did miscellaneous structural steel work along with composite aluminium cladding and canopies at the Azizia Mall Panda Hyper Market.
For the headquarters of the Saudi Council for Health Specialities, Dar Metal provided aluminium cladding canopies, a structural steel skylight and decorative shades. It also reported that it erected a structural steel bridge and an antenna at Sky Tower, among other recent projects.
