After two decades as manufacturer of fluorescent lighting systems, Riyadh-based Nardeen has emerged as one of the most prominent players in its field anywhere in the region.
The company also represents some of the finest international lighting brands and has implemented prestigious projects in the Middle East.
Production takes place in a 25,000 sq m facility in the capital’s Second Industrial City. The company has one of the most sophisticated lighting laboratories in the Middle East and its technical abilities include world-class goniophotometric facilities that provide a high standard of photometric efficiency by exploiting state-of-the-art light sources and reflector technology.
“Nardeen is an ISO-certified company striving to provide the best services to customers,” says a company spokesman. “We are proud to manufacture and distribute fluorescent light fittings to the international standards and according to Saso (Saudi Standards Organisation) regulations,” he adds.
Its distribution network covers Saudi Arabia, the GCC region and the wider Middle East. “Nardeen is keen to develop new markets of potential,” says the spokesman.
Some of the international brands it represents are Bega and Limburg of Germany; Boom, Z-Lighting and Kreon of Belgium; Cooper Lighting/JSB and Concord Lighting of the UK; Prisma, Reggiani and Elinca of Italy; Erni of Switzerland and Lumascape of Australia.
In Saudi Arabia, the company has implemented projects in some of the most prominent companies and institutions. These include towers, palaces and housing complexes; commercial centres, banks, government buildings, embassies, hotels, factories and airports.
The projects it accomplished include Al Faisaliah Tower Centre, the Diplomatic Quarter, Riyadh; Petrokemya Housing I, II, III and IV; King Abdulaziz Historical Centre, Al Umam Commercial Centre, the head office of the Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals, King Saud University, the Riyadh Public Transportation Centre, the Riyadh Court Complex and the Saudi German Hospital.
Other Saudi projects with Nardeen involvement are the Al Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Phase I, II, III, IV and V; the Saudi French Bank head office, Riyadh; Al Umam Commercial Centre, Al Tameer Centre, Equestrian Club, Dammam Stadium, Buraidah Hospital Housing, Specialised Medical Hospital and Mina Tent Pilgrims and Accommodation Project, Phase III.
One of the important projects undertaken abroad was the Aden Free Zone Terminal.
“We consider our clients as our partners; hence we endeavour to provide the best lighting solutions, respecting all the projects’ requirements and allocated budgets,” the spokesman said. He highlighted the company’s efforts at recruiting the best talent.
“Our people, with their impeccable lighting and engineering experience and their knowledge in product innovation, are one of the most distinctive marks of Nardeen’s identity,” he says.
In 2005 Nardeen started a women’s section in the factory. The 30 Saudi women it recruited with the support of Al-Nahda Women Society work in the assembly line. Their contribution is acknowledged with an inscription on packing cartons and labels saying the company’s women’s staff had assembled the products packed therein.
Encouraged by the move, the spokesman said the company was planning to expand its women’s section by adding a new production line with more advanced facilities.
