The delegation, comprising WTA secretary general Deong-Seong Oh; director Unesco-WTA Centre for Science City Governance Prof. Byung-Joo Kang and WTA director Tae-Ho La, met Hamad al Hashemi, managing director, Techno Park, and other Economic Zones World officials.
Techno Park, which is a member of the World Technopolis Association, gave the visitors a detailed briefing on Techno Park, its facilities and its future, while officials of the business development department briefed them on the scope and the latest projects of Economic Zones World, Techno Park’s holding company.
Al Hashemi said the WTA, whose aim of promoting development and sharing prosperity through exchanges and co-operation, was similar to Techno Park in vision.
“Joining WTA enables us to link shared research results in advanced scientific fields to industry, eventually facilitating local economic growth, and at the same time, promoting the cause of science and technology with the help of fellow member cities,” Al Hashemi added.
The WTA officials were briefed on Techno Park’s revised master plan and on the role the science and technology park and its sister EZW companies had played in the growth and development of Dubai.
