The Precision Dies and Tools Manufacturing Company (Pdtmc) recently entered into a strategic marketing relationship with Evita Management Consultancy of Germany to expand into overseas markets.
Pdtmc has supplied injection moulds to one of the major lab equipment manufacturers and thereafter received bulk orders for new products. It has also bagged orders for multi-cavity blow moulds from one of the biggest blow moulding machine suppliers in Italy and another order from Russia to develop a complete set of injection moulds for food packaging.
The company was established in 1984 as a manufacturer of extrusion dies for the aluminium industry. In 1985, it saw opportunities for broadening the services to include moulds for the plastic industry and press tooling for the sheet metal industry, and expanded its infrastructure accordingly.
The company offers concept-to-component solution, namely product design, prototyping, mock ups, mould flow analysis, surface modeling, tool design, an entire range of specialist heat treatment services (namely tempering, hardening, case hardening, annealing etc), manufacturing and in-house tool testing. It has been able to reach a unique position because of its state-of-the-art technology, CAD/CAM systems and highly qualified and trained human resources. This distinguishes it from the pack, the company says.
Pdtmc says it strongly believes in continuous improvement and a culture of excellence. Its world-class products, customer-centric focus, partnership approach and a team of trained engineers, highly skilled technicians and toolmakers ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. These factors have resulted in an impressive, growing portfolio of multinational as well as prominent local clientele.
The company’s excellence practices got a stamp of approval when its quality system got certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2000 standard by BSI Management systems, UK, two years ago.
Pdtmc has also been actively participating in many prestigious exhibitions in Europe and other regions.
In order to cater to the growing demand for its products and services, the company has been expanding in the last two years, both in terms of capacity as well as infrastructure. In the most recent expansion, additional equipment, namely, CNC wire cut, high-speed machining centre, CNC turning centres, high-precision surface grinder and ancillary equipment have been inducted. Post-expansion, the area has gone up by 75 per cent with separate areas allotted for heat treatment and press tool trials and separate air conditioned temperature controlled facilities for CNC equipment.
The company says its core competencies and areas of thrust lie in hot runner multi-cavity high-speed closure moulds for the mineral water, dairy and cosmetic industries; flip top cap moulds, PET blow shells, extrusion blow moulds, injection moulds for the chocolate industry, chocolate moulding trays and packaging boxes, thermoforming and vacuum forming moulds for cups, trays, blisters as well as industrial applications, extrusion and die casting for the aluminium industry and press tools for the sheet metal industry.
