Sheikih Khalid opening the show

Close to 300 brands and companies from 34 countries figured at the third edition of SteelFab organised by Expo Centre Sharjah on its premises in late January.

The event was the largest display of steel, fasteners, accessories, surface preparation, machinery and tools, welding and cutting, finishing and testing equipment, coatings and anti-corrosion material.
The three-day exhibition was inaugurated by Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qassimi, chairman of the Sharjah Ports Authority.
Present were Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Mohammed Salem Al Mosharrekh, board member, SCCI, Saif Al Midfa, director general of Expo Centre Sharjah, and officials of various government departments, and members of the diplomatic corps and trade associations.
Among the exhibitors were over 60 machinery brands for steel forming and fabrication work and more than 85 brands of welding and cutting systems.
“Compared to the previous edition, this year’s SteelFab has witnessed a growth in both the number of exhibiting brands and companies as well as the occupied exhibition space,” said Al Midfa.
“The growth is a reflection of the boom that the Middle East steelworking industry is currently experiencing due to a variety of factors including heightened construction activities in the region.”
