Al Zafer and Tusdeer:
Thanks to the passionate support and cooperation tendered by Tusdeer Free Zone, Al Zafer had the opportunity to be one of the pioneers in opening CFS warehouses inside the free zone.
This association helped Al Zafer make sure of easier and comfortable handling of its import consol boxes coming from various parts of the world. Now it strips out an average of 2,000 teu per annum with an estimated volume of 60,000 cbm, inside the Tusdeer warehouse. It is estimated to have an average of 6,000-7,000 cbm cargoes in storage under normal circumstances.
It uses the Tusdeer free zone facility for handling its regular transit shipments of vehicles, machinery, and engineering goods, to and from various parts of the world. With the ardent support of Tusdeer it has succeeded in becoming a specialised company in transit operations. The transit of FCL shipments is also done in abundance without any problems.
The Tusdeer facility enables Al Zafer to fulfill the duty free-re-export requirements of its clients smoothly, giving its clients the opportunity for easier customs dealings and relief from document related issues. There have been many occasions when Tusdeer helped in sorting out problems related to delayed receipt of shipping documents from its overseas agents. In many instances Tusdeer supported Al Zafer by providing additional labour and equipment in handling its cargoes when it had some unexpected rush in its warehouses.
According to Al Zafer, Tusdeer plans to utilise more equipment for the speedy mobilisation of containers from landside to the Tusdeer area and for returning empty containers back to the line stack. By the second quarter of 2007, it will provide access to the customs computer system to enter manifest and other necessary information directly on to it. This facility is to be shared with customers so that customers can submit manifest and other necessary details online.
Speaking of the association with Tusdeer, an Al Zafer spokesman said, “From our experience with Tusdeer Free Zone for the last three years, we can articulate without prejudice that it helped us a lot in expanding our activities to some new areas of service in which we are a specialised firm today.”
