“When the company started in 1993 in Abu Dhabi to manufacture a wide range of polyethylene water and chemical storage tanks, it was the first of its kind in the GCC,” says Jitendra Oza, deputy general manager of Polycon. “Over the years the company has grown by continuously investing and upgrading skills for the future,” he says.
One of its recent product additions is the environment-friendly waste bin containers. The product is rotationally moulded from high-resistance UV stabilised polyethylene, according Jitendra Oza. Its seamless one-piece construction makes it easy to clean and its lighter weight makes it easier to handle. It is also recyclable, shock resistant and weatherproof.
Polycon’s manufacturing facility in the Mussafah Industrial Area has an installed capacity in excess of 16 million gallons per year of international food-grade quality storage tanks.
Polycon products are made to the highest quality using medium-density polyethylene, an environmentally compatible hydrocarbon.
The company is part of Al Nasser Industrial Enterprises, which has interests in metal, power, polymers, plastics and environmental protection. Polycon products are designed to resist heavy hydrostatic loads with a built-in factor for safety, thereby ensuring many years of service.
Strict quality control to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 is maintained at each stage of the manufacturing process.
Its tanks are approved by UAE municipalities and FDA and carry material and performance guarantees. Its specially designed smooth inner layer resists growth of algae and bacteria. Its one-piece moulded body has no joints and is maintenance-free. Polyethylene granules used in the construction of the tanks ensures it is strong, durable and free from corrosion.
