Somec Sharaf Middle East, a joint venture company of the UAE’s Sharaf Group and Italy’s Sossai Group, recently won a Dh20 million ($5.4 million) contract for the installation of aluminium glass and window glazing at the 44-storey Dubai Jewel Tower located in the Dubai Technology, E-Commerce and Media Free Zone (Tecom).
Yousuf Sharaf, managing director, Sharaf Industries, said the order reflected the company’s strength which embodied Italian expertise in window glazing with the UAE’s reputation for engineering excellence.
He also stressed that Somec Sharaf strictly adhered to quality standards, which he said was the reason why the company had done well in the regional market.
“Somec Sharaf’s state-of-the-art production facility in Dubai has enabled the company to meet the increasing demand for window glazing and aluminium glass, making us a key player in the UAE’s booming construction sector,” said Sharaf who signed the contract. Aldo Sossai signed for his group.
Dubai Jewel Tower is a multi-use building that is developing at the heart of Tecom. The project will address the increasing demand for office, residential and commercial space in the locality.
Established in Dubai in 1976, the Sharaf Group has emerged as one of the largest business houses in the UAE. Its companies are engaged in diverse sectors spanning real estate and construction, industrial manufacturing, ship-ping and logistics, travel and tourism, fashion and electronics.
