SkyCargo's new service

Emirates SkyCargo's new service to Birmingham will provide a direct link between Dubai and the UK's industrial heartland. The service, scheduled to take off on December 18, will meet freight transportation requirements of businesses at both points, general manager for cargo commercial operations Peter Sedgley said.

Cargo customers in the region, the subcontinent, Pacific Rim and Australia will benefit from fast connecting times at Dubai in both directions. The new service will bring the total daily flights to the UK to six and the daily uplift into and out of the UK to over 100 tonnes in each direction.

Gamco carries out 'C' check

The Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company (Gamco) recently carried out a 'C' check on an aircraft belonging to a Canadian-based charter operator.

Skyservice, which operates the wide-bodied Airbus A330 aircraft, had one of its aircraft flown to Abu Dhabi from Canada to undergo the 'C' check at the Gamco hangar, Gamco said in a statement. This is the fourth time the company has carried out this type of maintenance, the Khaleej Times reported.
