Actaris has a strong industrial base with 30 manufacturing sites

One of the key participants at this year’s Jeddah Water Power Forum (JWPF) will be Actaris, a world leader in the design and manufacture of meters and associated systems for the management of electricity, gas, water, and heat consumption.

Actaris’ innovative products and systems, integrating the latest technologies, are specially designed to satisfy the needs of energy and water suppliers, services companies and industrial organisations.
The group is active in more than 30 countries with a strong presence in the Middle East. With 6,000 employees, Actaris achieved a turnover of 684 million euros ($855 million) in 2005. “The benefits of using our metering solutions are the metrological performances the utilities achieve resulting from more than 110 years of manufacturing high quality residential, commercial and industrial metering systems providing accurate billing and network management,” says Imad Al Dahleh.
Actaris employs over 250 specialists and invests 4 per cent of global annual budget in R&D, with the aim of anticipating trends in constantly changing markets. It actively participates in the optimisation and management of customers’ resources through its innovative high technology product range. “The newest developments include intelligent communicating meters compatible with user-friendly systems associated with world wide recognised standards,” says Al Dahleh.
In addition to 50 sales offices worldwide, Actaris also benefits from a strong industrial base with 30 manufacturing sites and strategic alliances with local distributors or industry partners across every continent, guaranteeing high reactivity and customisation of products and services. The company has installed more than 200 million meters worldwide as far.
Actaris has a long-standing presence in the region through its regional office in Dubai.
“Actaris participation in the forum is aimed at networking with existing and potential clients from governmental authorities, utilities, and ministries in the region who will be attending the event to update themselves on the state-of-the-art industrial technologies. This will aid them in managing our global resources more accurately,” says Al Dahleh.
“JWPF will facilitate them in finding the essential products and services for an improved management of the region’s resources,” he says.
The company’s products cover the following key sectors:

Electricity: It supports utility customers with a comprehensive product range for residential, commercial and industrial applications, from electromechanical and static metering and multi-tariff processing to data communication and load management systems.
Gas: The company’s residential and industrial meters, converters, regulators and stations, together with remote meter reading and prepayment systems, assure precise measurement and control of this safe, clean economical energy source.
Water: The company supplies highly accurate billing and allocation meters, communication modules, automatic meter reading (AMR) systems and irrigation equipment for this sector.
Heat: Actaris’ meters and integrators for billing and allocation, concentrators and related AMR software for accurate heat metering address the need both for fairer distribution of heating consumption charges and for increased general use of cogeneration and air conditioning in industry.
Liquid Measurement: It produces a wide range of reliable, accurate meters and registers, encompassing both mechanical and electronic metering technologies, for precision measurement of a variety of liquid products, from refined fuels (petroleum, LP gas) to chemicals and food ingredients.
The complete range of Actaris water-metering products are available in Saudi Arabia through its partner Dar Al Rabieh, which has a long experience in water metering, a highly qualified team of experienced engineers, and various complementary products for the water industry.
Actaris will be at booth C18 at the forum.
