Secure Computing Corporation, which specialises in securing connections between people, applications and networks, has announced that it has been positioned in the “Challengers” quadrant of Gartner Inc’s “Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Network Firewalls, 1H06” published recently.
According to Gartner, the enterprise firewall market is driven primarily by the requirement to provide network policy enforcement and intrusion prevention at trust boundaries. Network firewalls are often the first line of defence and primary implementers of a positive security model policy of “deny all except that which is expressly allowed.”
“Companies today are faced with increasing threats to their network security and numerous vendors touting solutions that address only the bits and pieces of a complete security solution,” commented Sami Mulla, director, Middle East, Secure Computing. “Our Sidewinder G2, CyberGuard TSP and SnapGear security appliances consolidate all major Internet security functions into a single system that protects against both known and unknown attacks. This recognition by Gartner underlines our impressive track-record of providing our customers with gold-standard appliances.”
Gartner, a leading research and advisory firm with more than 45,000 clients worldwide, evaluates vendors annually against numerous criteria including the vendor’s vision; market understanding; marketing sales strategy and execution; innovation; customer references and track record.
