Thanks to the wide range of products that Gulf Chemicals and Industrial Resins Company (GCIR) manufactures in Dammam, it has been successful in meeting the requirements of various sectors of industry.
The company’s output includes different grades of alkyd resins, emulsions, saturated and unsaturated polyesters, special oils such as drilling oil, transformer oil and white oil; hydrocarbon solvents such as white spirit and odourless white spirit.
It supplies its products to manufacturers of paints, resins, fibreglass products, pipe coating material, boats, petrol tanks, construction chemicals, industrial degreasers, inks, insecticides, aerosols and bitumen products.
Major markets for the company’s products are Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, South Africa and Sri Lanka. Shipments are also sent to states in and around the GCC.
Giving a brief background as to the company’s origins, a spokesman said a company named Saudi Industrial Solvents Co (Sisco) started producing hydrocarbon solvents and special oils in 1984. In 1994, Gulf Chemicals and Industrial Resins Company was established and started producing alkyd resins, polyesters and emulsion. In 2002, Sisco merged with GCIR.
“Our main R&D team has formulated a range of specially tailored products which have been used by most local and international manufacturers and industries for their products,” the spokesman said.
“Through our experienced team in the technical services department, GCIR offers in-depth advice regarding new formulations and after sales.
“The concept of “total solution” is the key to our commitment to quality and service.”
GCIR products have the following brand names: Saudalkyd for alkyd resins; Saudpol for saturated and unsaturated polyester resins; Saudmul for emulsion dispersions in water and Saudsol for special oils and solvents.
