DHL Middle East is introducing a range of time definite products across the region.
“The innovation of our range of products means that our customers will have more choice and ultimately more control of their shipment needs,” said DHL Middle East managing director Phil Couchman. DHL Express Services, a new product portfolio offering more choice and control, was launched in five countries across the region on January 1 as part of DHL Middle East’s strategy for 2006. Following on from the global launch of DHL’s Time and Day Definite products that took place in Bahrain during January 2005, DHL has launched the range of products for consumers in the Middle East in a two-phase approach.
DHL Express Services, currently available in Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Yemen, will be launched in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Lebanon, Bahrain, Syria and Iran on February 1.
“The innovation of our range of products means that our customers will have more choice and ultimately more control of their shipment needs,” said Couchman.
“We recognise that every business runs to different deadlines and has different needs; that is why our new product portfolio is based on a logical system of time definite and day definite choices.
“In simple terms the choice of delivery time, and price, rests with our customers.”
Discussing the choice of Bahrain as the launch pad, Couchman said: “Bahrain is an extremely mature, sophisticated and competitive market, hence our decision to launch our new Time and Day Definite products there.
“The feedback and success rate of the new range of our products has been phenomenal, with customers recognising the choice and control the range offers.”
The new family of products, that is now available to all DHL clients in Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan, Syria and Yemen, sets the focus on time as a defining element with the clear aim of serving the customer’s requirements, allowing clients to better manage their own resources.
DHL provided the new portfolio due to an increasing need of customers to have more choice of transit times; from a pre-9am or pre-noon delivery service and next-day express, to second-day delivery and express freight for heavyweight shipments.
“Following on from the launch in Bahrain, we foresee the regional launch as being a huge success,” said Couchman, adding: “Customers can select a convenient choice of service according to their specific needs, and as the prices are clearly structured, managing costs has become a more streamlined, easier process.”
