Kanoo Shipping Agencies recently received the new series of Long-Range Crew and Supply Vessels, Kanoo 32, from Holland-based Damen Shipyards.
This concludes the group’s comprehensive new-build programme of Crew and Supply Launches, said a top official.
“The addition of Kanoo 32 to our existing fleet has helped us diversify Kanoo’s interests in the offshore market,” said Steve Blackney, shipping manager for UAE, Oman and Iraq.
The Kanoo 30-series launches are all-weather steel hulled Crew/Supply vessels designed with a long-range functionality of modern offshore service craft and incorporates a high service speed, stability and, above all, safety for both passengers and cargo.
Kanoo 32 has a cargo capacity of 2.5 tonnes and can carry up to six people and four crew members.
“The Kanoo 30-series was custom-built to our specifications by Damen and is a part of our $4million new-build programme,” added the shipping manager.
“We have decided to make our expanded fleet available for longer term charters within the region,” Blackney added.
“Kanoo 32 is suitable for oil rig support, chase boat work and transportation for other offshore projects,” said the official.
