Legrand’s M1 controls electrical functions in a home

Electrical products and systems giant Legrand says 2005 has been as exceptional year of the company in the GCC and it expects a growth rate of around 50 per cent this year. 

The company says its next challenge is to become a market leader and benchmark player in the electrical intelligence market.
“The potential of the regional market is unbelievable and we see our products increasingly meeting local demand,” says Mohammed Ahmed-Yahia, general manager, Legrand Middle East.
“In this respect, we are currently promoting our new innovative home automation system called In One, which controls electrical functions from any part of a home, or remotely via a Web browser from a mobile phone or computer – even from another country.
Last March the company had launched its newest range of switches and sockets in the Middle East. Called Synergy, the range is based on the pre-eminence of the BS as the reference standard for wiring accessories in more than 30 countries. Synergy comprises of switches and sockets in three lines: economy, high and luxury.
With traditional and modern influences, the range showcases a host of new designs of evolved features such as the white plastic cover plate with new rounded ages, LED display, laser marking and the patented three-pin safety shutter protection mechanism.
Legrand, which has a 25-year history in the region, is now looking to consolidate its position through the creation of a technical hub in Dubai and through the reorganising of its regional operations.
The technical hub will bring together core specialist services, which will be provided to any of the five areas within the Middle East zone, whenever required. Among the specialisations available through the hub are power, wiring devices, specifi-cations, a dedicated marketing department, VDI, and training.
Legrand established its Dubai office in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in 1996. The office today oversees the company’s operations in the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Oman. In addition to this, the establishment of Legrand Customer Centres in the emirates and other parts of the GCC makes the company strategically placed to capitalise on the projected regional demand for electrical products and systems.
