An Extec crusher line

Extec Screen & Crushers Ltd., the South Derbyshire-based manufacturer of mobile screening and crushing equipment, has been awarded a Queen’s award for Enterprise in the International Trade category.

The award recognises the company’s achievements in the development of state-of-the-art mobile screening and crushing systems.
The award is in recognition of the company’s outstanding success in developing overseas markets and exporting its machines for the recycling and quarrying industries.  It is given to companies that have shown a substantial and sustained increase in export earnings to a level that is outstanding for its products and the size of its operations.
Extec was established in 1987 and the Swadlincote company has grown into a world leader in the manufacture and supply of screening, crushing and materials handling solutions.  Operations director Ian English says the growth in export orders is a result of ongoing investment.  “The influx of capital and the re-invigoration of the company following the 3i-backed management buyout in 2002 enabled us to continue development of the international markets which are going from strength to strength.
“We pride ourselves on being an excellent local employer and manufacturer of quality products.  This award is recognition of the hard work of everyone at the company and of the strong partnership we have formed with our suppliers both locally and internationally.”
Commented a company spokesman: “Extec has a justified reputation of innovative customer-focused design with such profit generating machines as the S-Series Doublescreens, E-Series of apron feeder screeners and the mould breaking C- Series of tracked crushers.”
